Top 5 Reasons to Watch ‘Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party’

Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg have somehow become bosom buddies, and society is now responsible for the unlikely duo’s new cooking-meets-talk show, Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party. The premiere opened with a fried-chicken cook-off, which not only allowed Stewart to show off her superior fry skills, but also gave her an opportunity to crisply enunciate the word “cockfight.”

The party goes down on Snoop’s side of the kitchen, which is painted purple, styled with glitter, and features Casino and Goodfellas posters. It also has a refrigerator that plays music when opened. Stewart’s area is a little more traditional, looking exactly how you would imagine her kitchen would look.

When the hosts and guests take a break from eating, the series transforms into a loose talk show, chock full of games and performances. But if you’re hoping Potluck Dinner Party includes a shot of the King of Kush and the Queen of Cuisine passing the pipe and giggling, think twice. Stewart still has an image to maintain, and Tha Doggfather isn’t here to pander.

So, viewers, there you have it, Potluck Dinner Party is as much as an odd couple culinary vaudeville act as it is an image makeover for both the rap mogul and the domesticity empress.

Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party airs on Mondays at 10 p.m. on VH1.
