‘Today’ Welcomes a New Member to the Team — an Adorable Puppy!

A new “puppy with a purpose” was introduced Monday morning on Today. The still unnamed puppy joined the show with help from America’s VetDogs, a nonprofit organization that trains service dogs specifically for veterans. The black lab puppy will be on the set of Today spreading joy and cuteness, but it will also be undergoing a 14 week training course, learning the skills that will make it a successful service dog.

The puppy made all the stops on Today. After its initial introduction, it stopped by the set to meet Tamron Hall, Billy Bush, and Al Roker. The cute puppy was once again showered with affection, but unfortunately she had an encounter with Bush’s weak attempt at humor. This may be a more common occurrence around Today since Bush recently got hired full-time.

At the end of her visit, the puppy met Kathy Lee and Hoda. Kathy Lee was handed the puppy but accidentally touched it somewhere she wished she hadn’t. After handing the puppy back to the trainer, she let everyone know that she had to wash her hands.

Today has asked their viewers for help naming the pup with 3 choices to choose from: Sarge, Charlie, and Ace. Anybody interested in voting can do so at Today.com
