TLC Bringing ‘Breaking Amish’ Back For Season 2

The controversial Breaking Amish is returning for a second season in May, TLC said today. The network has ordered eight episodes of the fish-out-of-water reality show, which is moving from New York City to Florida for the upcoming season. It will still feature Season 1 cast members Abe, Rebecca, Kate, Sabrina and Jeremiah. Breaking Amish’s first season chronicled the five Amish and Mennonite young adults leaving their isolated community behind for the big city. Despite proving a ratings hit — with 3.2 million viewers on average watching the first season — the show was hit with rumors of fakery, fraud and slight of hand almost from its September 9 debut. TLC admitted about halfway through the season that some of the stories about the show’s cast not knowing each other beforehand and not quite being so new to big-city life were false. The network later aired two one-hour reunion specials hosted by with Access Hollywood’s Michelle Beadle to address some of the rumors, though much was left unexplored or unexplained. Breaking Amish is produced by Hot Snakes Media.
