‘The Walking Dead’ Finale Recap: Comrades Fall, Tigers Roar, and War Is Declared

The Season 7 finale of The Walking Dead was an action-packed one, as Alexandria prepared to fight Negan. Rick’s gang and the Scavengers built up defenses, but when Negan arrived, Rick learned that ole bowl-bangs and her clan of trash people were traitors.

The Scavengers turned on Rick’s group, and before a single shot was fired, Negan had control of Alexandria. But luckily Sasha had one trick up her sleeve.

Negan wanted to use Sasha to manipulate Rick, but she surprised Negan by poisoning herself on the car ride over to Alexandria. When Negan unveiled her from a casket she was hiding in, he got the surprise of his life. Since Sasha had poisoned herself she had become a walker and attacked Negan.

Sasha’s sacrifice created a distraction so that Rick’s people could fight the Scavengers. Rick and Carl were captured after all the dust settled, and it did not look good as Negan planned to kill Carl and take Rick’s hands. But just before Negan could swing his bat, Shiva the tiger sprang onto the Saviors, along with the rest of the Kingdom’s knights.

Maggie also showed up with the Hilltop Community, and with everyone’s help they were able to drive the Saviors and Scavengers out of Alexandria. Unfortunately, it looks as if their victory will be short-lived because Negan is bringing a war to October’s Season 8 premiere.

The Walking Dead returns in October on AMC.
