'The Goldbergs' First Look: 'Weird' Al is The Love of Adam's Life

Is there anything more ‘80s than “Weird” Al Yankovic? Yes, the world’s foremost song-parody artist continues to win Grammys today (most recently in 2015 for his album Mandatory Fun), but he truly came to prominence in the mid-’80s with hits like “Eat It.” Which is why it makes perfect sense that the lead character of ABC’s ‘80s-set sitcom The Goldbergs completely idolizes “Weird” Al, as we see in this exclusive clip above. Adam (Sean Giambrone) takes his girlfriend Dana (Natalie Alyn Lind) to see “Weird” Al in concert — where they slow dance to “I Think I’m a Clone Now” — only to be forced to choose between her and the musical love of his life.

Though Dana ultimately makes the choice for Adam, it doesn’t look like his dream of becoming “new best pals” with Al is going to come to fruition. Sorry, Adam, but we think you’re alone now.

The Goldbergs airs Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. on ABC.
