‘The Goldbergs’ First Look: Give Thanks for K.I.T.T.

Give thanks for K.I.T.T.!

Children of the ’80s fondly remember the slick talking car from Knight Rider. Who didn’t dream of zooming down the street behind the wheel of K.I.T.T.? Count The Goldbergs‘ Adam (Sean Giambrone) and Uncle Marvin (Dan Fogler) among K.I.T.T.’s fans. In this sneak peek promo of the ABC comedy’s Thanksgiving episode, airing Wednesday night, K.I.T.T. himself — voiced by Williams Daniels — makes a very special appearance.

Murray and Marvin bond over their love of Knight Rider by going to see K.I.T.T. in Philadelphia’s Thanksgiving parade. “I’m bringing families together,” K.I.T.T. explains in the promo. Well, yes, but this is The Goldbergs, so some hijinks are involved. “You made my son an accessory to grand theft auto,” Murray yells at his brother. That’s going to be hard to overlook at the next family gathering.

And if that’s not enough to get you to tune in, perhaps the person behind the camera will:

Yes, that’s Back to the Future star Lea Thompson (with The Goldbergs‘ Sam Lerner and K.I.T.T.), who directed the episode, titled “Ho-ly K.I.T.T.”
