‘The Carmichael Show’: Social Issues with a Smile
The Carmichael Show, starring comedian Jerrod Carmichael, premiered Wednesday night with two episodes and it managed to successfully blend comedy and current social issues without making it weird. The show dealt with sensitive subjects like Black Lives Matter but it did it in a constructive and comical way.
The pilot was a little clunky but the second episode was encouraging. By midseason this show should hit it’s stride, that is if viewers tune in and help it avoid the chopping block.
