'The Bachelorette' Finale Preview: Visit From Neil Lane Gives Nick PTSD

Scholars of The Bachelorette know that it is a suitor’s rite of passage to get a visit from “jeweler to the stars” Neil Lane before meeting his ladylove at the Proposal Platform. And those same rose lovers will remember that the last time current contestant Nick Viall (aka Smarmy McBrillohead; King of Jerkface Mountain; Guy I Really Don’t Like) expected a visit from Neil Lane, he opened the door to find Bachelorette Andi Dorfman instead — and then she dumped him. Let’s all take a moment to relive that glorious exchange.

So it’s not hard to understand that on Monday’s episode of The Bachelorette, Nick can’t help but have some Reject Minivan flashbacks while waiting for Neil Lane to show up with a selection of rings for Kaitlyn. “I’m a little nervous between the time I open up the door and see who’s on the other side of it,” he admits.

Of course as you’ll see in the sneak preview, in fact it is Neil Lane standing on the other side of the door.

But will his relief turn to despair once again when he gets to the Proposal Platform? Only The Bachelorette gods know for sure.
