Jon Hamm, Amy Schumer, 'Empire' Among Big Winners at TV Critics Awards

Jon Hamm may not have won a Mad Men Emmy yet, but he now has an award from the nation’s critics. The Television Critics Association (TCA) honored the top programs and actors of the 2014-15 television season at the 31st Annual TCA Awards presentation, held Saturday night.

Other big awardees included double-winner Amy Schumer, for both Individual Achievement in Comedy and Outstanding Achievement in Comedy for her show Inside Amy Schumer, and Empire for Program of the Year. The annual Heritage award, given for a performer’s entire career, went to David Letterman, for his combined Late Night and Late Show programs.

The results were determined from votes cast by the TCA’s membership, comprised of more than 220 professional TV critics and journalists from the United States and Canada.

  • Outstanding Achievement in Reality Programming: The Chair (Starz)

  • Outstanding Achievement in Youth Programming: The Fosters (ABC Family) 

  • Outstanding New Program: Better Call Saul (AMC)

  • Outstanding Achievement in Movies, Miniseries and Specials: The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst (HBO) 

  • Outstanding Achievement in Drama: The Americans (FX)

  • Outstanding Achievement in Comedy: Inside Amy Schumer (Comedy Central)

  • Career Achievement Award: James L. Brooks

  • Heritage Award: Late Show/Late Night With David Letterman (CBS/NBC)

  • Program of the Year: Empire (Fox)
