Taraji P. Henson Shows Off Her Telephone Acting Chops on ‘Tonight Show’

On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Golden Globe winner Taraji P. Henson played a game with Fallon involving her acting chops and improv comedy. The duo prompted each other with dramatic situations and had to act out the scenarios into a telephone.

Taraji’s first scene was inspired by her character Cookie from Empire. The scenario: Cookie was orbiting in space and receives a call from NASA informing her that she was stuck up there and couldn’t come home yet. Taraji broke up Fallon with her playful banter about her desperation to come back to Earth because she “needed to wax” and “looked like a wooly mammoth.”

Fallon’s last scene for the animated actress was having her helping deliver her best friend’s baby, but the plot twist was that the father was calling to let them know why he wasn’t present for the birth. Taraji ended the scene with her typical sass, barking into the phone, “And that’s baby number three. We want a divorce!”

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on NBC.
