    The premiere screening of Season 5 of Samurai Jack began with a live performance by Tyler Bates, who composed the music for the new season.     ‘Samurai Jack’ Is Back, As Exciting and Beautiful As Ever

    One of my favorite shows of the early aughts was Samurai Jack, the gorgeous, richly eccentric Cartoon Network series that aired from 2001 to 2004. Now Jack is back, in a new 10-episode season that starts airing on Adult Swim on March 11. Having watched the first two episodes, I’m happy to report that this cartoon created by Genndy Tartakovsky is as exciting, beautiful, and multilayered as it ever was.

    'Samurai Jack' Is Coming Back!

    Adult Swim has announced the return of Samurai Jack, the ultra-terrific 2001-2004 Cartoon Network series from creator Genndy Tartakovsky. The new season of episodes, says an Adult Swim press release, “will premiere on Adult Swim’s Toonami block in 2016.” For anyone who doesn’t remember, Jack chronicled the adventures of the tight-lipped samurai warrior who traveled through space and time to battle his nemesis, Aku, the shape-shifting Master of Darkness.
