    Hiro Nakamura is back — and we think he’s better than ever, especially for a guy who’s been trapped in a video game for the past five years. Masi Oka has returned as the time-traveling Evo for a three episode guest starring arc on Heroes Reborn, the 13-episode miniseries continuation of Tim Kring’s sci-fi drama, Heroes. And five years after the Heroes finale, Oka is giving us a supersized Instagram takeover (41 photos!) from the Toronto set of the NBC miniseries.

Creator of TheNerdMachine.com and star of Chuck, Levi now plays the lethal Luke Collins on NBC’s Heroes Reborn. “I want to play a character that’s really different from what I typically have done,” he told the show’s creator, Tim Kring, who cast him as a bereft father whose “vigilantery” involves taking out evos rather than being one of them.

    ‘Heroes Reborn’ Premieres With Plenty of Plot Lines

    Heroes Reborn premiered Thursday night, and it was two hours of limited commercials and unlimited instances of “huh?” The new series starts with humans and mutants getting along, but after a giant explosion wipes out a peace rally, all bets are off. Mutants, or evos as they’re called, soon start disappearing, and it seems that some secret group is hunting them down and killing them. This first episode was more focused on introducing the multiple plot lines than anything else.

    There are a lot of people who are going to tune in to the two-hour premiere continuation of Heroes — retitled Heroes Reborn — with the events of the first, 2006-2010 series firmly in their minds.
