Fabled 'Crab Ball' Located on 'Deadliest Catch'
On Deadliest Catch, the ship Cornelia Marie stumbled on a once-in-a-lifetime fishing spot when they located a crab ball. A crab ball is extremely rare and occurs when crabs go into a feeding frenzy in one location which in turn causes them to stack up on top of one another. The ship’s captain, Josh Harris, would normally drop the fishing pots a quarter mile apart but after pulling one pot up that held 600 opilio crab he decide to gamble and drop all his gear in that spot.
