Swizz Beatz Defends Wife Alicia Keys' Make-Up Free VMAs Look

Swizz Beatz is standing by his wife!

The 37-year-old music producer took to Instagram to defend Alicia Keys after she was criticized for not wearing makeup to Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards.

"Y'all gotta think about that. This is deep," Beatz started in the video. "Somebody's sitting at home mad, because somebody didn't wear makeup on their face… not your face, but they didn't put makeup on their face, because they just didn't feel like wearing makeup."

"But you're mad because that person didn't put makeup to please you? What sh*t is this?" he continued. "Because you can do whatever you want to do."

"Think about it… this is deep," he captioned the impassioned clip, posted to his Instagram on Monday. "#naturallove I'm not mad I'm just saying :)."

Keys took to Twitter to defend herself from critics just hours before, insisting her choice not to wear makeup doesn't mean she wants everyone to follow suit.

"Y'all, me choosing to be makeup free doesn't mean I'm anti-makeup. Do you!" she wrote alongside a fresh-faced selfie.

Keys and her husband clearly have each other's backs, but they weren the only power couple to make headlines at the VMAs.

In fact, music's hottest couples -- including Beatz and Keys, Beyonce and Jay Z, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, and Diddy and Cassie -- got together after the show for one epic photo.
