Susan Sarandon on Debra Messing Twitter Feud: ‘Debra Has Too Much Time on Her Hands’

On Watch What Happens Live Thursday, Susan Sarandon talked about the Twitter feud that recently erupted between her and Debra Messing.

After headlines surfaced suggesting Sarandon, an avid Bernie Sanders supporter, might back Donald Trump if Hillary Clinton wins the Democratic nomination, Messing took to Twitter to criticize.

“Susan Sarandon muses tht Trump prezcy wud b better 4 the country thn Hillary.Wonder if she’d say that if she were poor, gay,Muslim or immgrnt,” Messing’s Tweet read.

The issue Sarandon had was that it seemed Messing and her followers were reacting to a headline and not actually watching the interview or reading her quotes. Even after telling people to dig a little further, the backlash didn’t stop.

“Debra has too much time on her hands. I don’t know,” Sarandon said. “She kept going and going and going. And then finally after a while I said, ‘Debra, look, report me to the homeroom teacher and let’s just stop.’”
