'Superstore' Strike Is a Lesson in Humility

Superstore returned for a second season Thursday night and the gang was still on strike from Cloud 9 in support of the store manager, Glenn. Glenn had been fired after giving a new mom maternity leave, which was against corporate policy. Glenn managed to get around the corporate policies by suspending the mom with pay. This meant a lot to the employees so in show of solidarity, they went on strike. Unfortunately the strike was not as fruitful as the employees had hoped, as the big box retailer opted to just bring in workers from another branch. But Cloud 9 did offer to hire everyone back, including Glenn, if hey signed an apology letter. While the workers wanted to continue striking they realized that they were easily replaceable so they returned to work and signed the letter.
