'SuperMansion' Trailer: Bryan Cranston's Superhero Comedy Is a Triumph of Silliness

Who needs a Justice League when you’ve got the League of Freedom on hand to save lives? Actually, we still kinda need the Justice League, because that other league can barely save themselves. That’s the premise behind SuperMansion, the new animated series debuting on Crackle on Oct. 8.

Overseen by Stoopid Buddy Studios, the company responsible for the long-running Adult Swim series, Robot Chicken, SuperMansion stars Breaking Bad Emmy-winner Bryan Cranston as over-the-hill superhero Titanium Rex, head honcho of the team of misfits calling themselves the League of Freedom. (Cranston also serves as exec producer of the series.)

Other members of the group include American Ranger (Keegan-Michael Key), Cooch (Heidi Lynn Gardner), Brad (Tom Root), and Black Saturn (Tucker Gilmore). Their fighting prowess — or lack thereof — is on display in this new trailer, which finds the League fighting such battles as aging gracefully and paying for groceries via check when your credit card is declined… as well as the occasional villain or two. This time around, Cranston’s not just breaking bad — you might say he’s breaking super bad.

SuperMansion premieres Oct. 8 on Crackle.
