Long rumored and officially announced last month, we now have a peek at the look of the “World’s Finest” March 28 Supergirl episode and what Melissa Benoist and Grant Gustin will be up to together — on and off the track. “Kara gains a new ally when the lightning-fast superhero The Flash (Grant Gustin) suddenly appears from an alternate universe and helps Kara battle Siobhan, aka Silver Banshee, and Livewire in exchange for her help in finding a way to return him home,” says CBS of the Nick Gomez directed episode. While the specially created art has characters from both shows in it, there are no plans of yet it seems for the seemingly renewed Supergirl (if Les Moonves is to be believed, and he likely is) to fly over to the world of The Flash on the CW.

However, with a story by EP Greg Berlanti and written by EP Andrew Kreisberg and Michael Grassi, the one-off does weave together elements of both WBTV series. As well, as fanboys and fangirls have picked up, the March 28 Supergirl lifts its title from the Superman and Batman team-up comic series that ran from 1941 to the mid-1980s. Stray snippets of the crossover had been leaking out over social media while filming went on in LA in early February with fan photos of Brit Morgan as Livewire and Italia Ricca as Silver Banshee on set. With Flash jumping from world to world on his own show in recent episodes, Gustin himself fed fans’ appetites for info with sneak peeks of the Supergirl crossover on Twitter and Instagram.
