'Suits' Season Finale Sneak Peek: Harvey's Next Step

Last week’s penultimate episode of Suits’ fifth season ended with Mike (Patrick J. Adams) telling AUSA Anita Gibbs (Leslie Hope) that he was ready to accept a deal, just as she got word that the jury had reached its verdict. But which of her offers was Mike referring to: that he’ll do two years in prison for fraud and she won’t go after anyone at Pearson Specter Litt, or he’ll go free if he turns on one name partner?

The exclusive sneak peek above from tonight’s season finale would seem to provide an answer: Harvey (Gabriel Macht) asks Donna (Sarah Rafferty) to get him the name and address of the jury foreman. “Donna, Mike just threw his whole life away, and there’s nothing I can do about it. And the only way that I can accept it, is if I find out what that verdict was gonna be,” he says.

So the real question is, is there any circumstance in which Harvey will stop fighting for Mike’s freedom? As Macht told Yahoo TV when describing guilt-ridden Harvey’s frame of mind at the end of the last hour, “He’s completely unstoppable, he’s won every case in his life — to lose the one case that’s the highest stakes… I think it would be crushing for him and change his whole perspective on everything.”

USA’s promo for the finale promises one person will end the hour behind bars. Will it be Mike, or does New York City’s top closer, Harvey Specter, still have something up his sleeve?

Adams is currently doing a play in San Diego and tells Yahoo TV he has come face-to-face with a lot of confident Suits fans. “Almost all of them, they know in their heart that I’m not going to prison. They know it. They’re like, 'I know you’re trying to make us think that you’re going to prison. You’re not going to go to prison, so good luck with that. Everything’s going to be fine,’" he says.
