Steve Harvey Has Push-Up Contest With an 81-Year-Old Bodybuilder

Steve Harvey ended up in a push-up contest with 81-year-old Ernestine Shepherd on Little Big Shots: Forever Young. Shepherd is the world’s oldest female competitive bodybuilder — and maybe the world’s biggest flirt. After telling Harvey that she has a crush on him she said, “That’s right, baby. You know you’re handsome.”

Shepherd challenged Harvey to exercise with her. Although Harvey resisted, he ended up doing a 25-second plank with Shepherd. Inspired by all the planking, Harvey started doing push-ups, and Shepherd joined in, but Harvey could not keep up, saying, “I’m about to damn near fall apart.”

Shepherd is from Fort Washington, Md. She wakes up at 2:30 every morning to go running to stay in shape. She’s competed in seven bodybuilding competitions. When she placed first in her age category at a competition, she was contacted by the Guinness Book of World Records, which told her she was the oldest female bodybuilding competitor. Shepherd said, “I say to my senior ladies: Age is nothing but a number, and you can get fit.”

Little Big Shots: Forever Young airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
