Starz is the latest partner for Vimeo's new global television store, which officially launched Tuesday at MIPCOM in the south of France.
The licensing deal means Starz TV shows Ash vs Evil Dead, Black Sails and The Girlfriend Experience will be made available to Vimeo subscribers in the U.S. and in more than 150 countries.
The agreement with Vimeo follows Lionsgate, Starz's pending merger partner, becoming the first Hollywood studio to join Vimeo and its global television store, intended as a new competitor to Netflix.
"With this agreement, Starz will make available for purchase three of its most powerful and compelling Starz original series for consumers around the world," Starz COO Jeffrey Hirsch said in a statement Tuesday.
Sam Toles, senior vp programming at Vimeo, said his global television store is the world's first transactional service to offer premium TV on a global basis.
"We're truly excited to be partnering with Lionsgate and now Starz to offer their content and today's launch marks a huge expansion for our offering of premium programming," Toles said in his own statement.
Vimeo is in talks with other Hollywood studios about possibly using its global television store as one more platform to get premium TV content to online, next-generation customers around the world.
