‘Star’ Series Premiere To Follow ‘Empire’ Season 3 Fall Finale On Fox

Fox has slotted Empire‘s Season 3 fall finale on December 14 in the special timeslot of 8 PM, followed by the premiere of Lee Daniels & Tom Donaghy’s new series Star at 9 PM. New episodes of Star will resume in the show’s regular slot on Wednesday, January 4 at 9 PM.

Featuring a soundtrack of original music and performances, Star follows three talented young singers — desperate for a new start and with ambitions of stardom — as they navigate the cut-throat music business. The series stars Queen Latifah as Carlotta and Benjamin Bratt as Jahil, along with newcomers Jude Demorest as Star, Ryan Destiny as Alexandra, Brittany O’Grady as Simone and Amiyah Scott as Cotton. The series also will feature guest stars Lenny Kravitz, Naomi Campbell and Tyrese Gibson. You can check out a new trailer above.

Star is a production of 20th Century Fox Television in association with Lee Daniels Entertainment. Daniels and Donaghy are the creators and executive producers. Pamela Oas Williams and Effie Brown also serve as executive producers. Chuck Pratt is an executive producer and serves as showrunner of the series.
