‘Stand Up to Cancer’: Watch the Live Stream Here

When you’re standing up to a particularly nefarious foe like cancer, it always helps to have a hero like Batman on your side. So it’s a good thing that the big screen’s reigning Dark Knight, Ben Affleck, is among the A-list invitees to this year’s edition of Stand Up to Cancer, the biennial fundraising special that celebrates its fifth telecast on Friday, Sept. 9 at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT. And a birthday this big can’t be confined to one network: That’s why SU2C will be carried live and commercial free on all the major networks, as well as multiple cable channels and streaming services like Facebook, YouTube, and Yahoo TV.

Joining Affleck at Los Angeles’s famed Walt Disney Concert Hall are a host of other stars from some of your favorite movies and TV shows, from Matthew McConaughey and Niecy Nash to Anna Kendrick and Eric Stonestreet. And as a co-founder of SU2C, Yahoo’s Global News Anchor Katie Couric will be taking the stage as well, in between such musical acts as Celine Dion and Little Big Town. That rolodex of entertainers should help add millions of more crucial research dollars to the $370 million that the event has raised over the past four years. And hey, speaking of Batman, the Caped Crusader’s alter ego — Gotham City millionaire Bruce Wayne — should be good for a couple hundred grand…
