Codex Climaci Rescriptus
Codex Climaci RescriptusDating from between the late 4th and early 9th centuries, the Codex Climaci Rescriptus is one of the earliest near-complete Bibles in the world. The documents, acquired by twin-sister Bible scholars Agnes Lewis and Margaret Gibson during their travels to Saint Catherine's Monastery in Sinai between 1895 and 1906, also feature two layers of text, including some written in Aramaic, the language that Jesus Christ spoke.
