'Family Ties': Where Are They Now?
Tracy Pollan (Ellen Reed)
Liberal feminist Ellen Reed was the perfect foil for ultra-conservative Alex P. Keaton when she joined the show in Season 4. Even though Ellen and Alex were only together onscreen for 13 episodes, the actors who played them managed to forge an off-camera connection. Tracy Pollan and Michael J. Fox didn't start dating right away because they were both seeing other people, but when they reunited on set for the 1987 film "Bright Lights, Big City," they finally became an item.
Following their 1988 marriage, Pollan focused more on their family than her career. While she worked on and off in projects like the TV movie "Fine Things" and had two guest spots on her hubby's sitcom "Spin City," Pollan was mostly a stay-at-home mom to their four kids: Sam, Esme, and twin girls Aquinnah and Schuyler.
Pollan has been easing back into acting over the last few years. She appeared in the TV movie "Natalee Holloway" as Beth Twitty and "Justice for Natalee Holloway" as Beth Holloway. She received an Emmy nomination in 2000 for her guest-starring role on the drama "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."
