'South Park: The Fractured But Whole' Game Delayed to Early 2017

The Hollywood Reporter

Sorry South Park fans, but it appears you're going to have to wait even longer for the next installment of the Comedy Central cartoon-based video game series.

It was announced Thursday by developer Ubisoft that South Park: The Fractured But Whole has been pushed to early 2017, which is a huge letdown since a Dec. 6 release was already put in place for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Ubisoft declined to elaborate why the role-playing game, a follow-up to 2014's The Stick of Truth, was delayed. Trailers for the game have been released and South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, while visiting E3 in June, shared gameplay clips.

Both Parker and Stone have previously said they want the gameplay experience to be perfect down to the last detail for Fractured.

In August, Stone told The Hollywood Reporter that the script for the game was gigantic.

South Park premiered its 20th season Wednesday.
