'SNL's' Hillary Clinton Impressions Throughout the Years

During this past weekend’s Saturday Night Live, Kate McKinnon channeled her inner Hillary Clinton in a sketch that parodied Hillary’s recent announcement that she’ll be running for president. McKinnon became the latest in a string of impressionists to tackle the former first lady.

The late Jan Hooks was the first SNL cast member to don a blond wig and pants suit way back when Bill Clinton was running for president in 1992. Next up was Ana Gasteyer, who played Hillary as a scowling, disapproving, put-upon wife to Darrell Hammond’s Bill in the midst of the Monica Lewinski scandal. Before the show found McKinnon, Vanessa Bayer attempted to fill Gasteyer’s shoes in the role, although the results were less than impressive for the otherwise hilarious SNL player.

Arguably the most well known Hillary Clinton impression came from Amy Poehler, who was the first to introduce the now infamous high-pitched laugh.

Saturday Night Live airs Saturdays at 11:35 p.m. on NBC.
