They share a network and a creator, so you know it had to happen sooner or later. MacGyver meets Hawaii Five-0 this week, and the results are literally groundbreaking as Mac and Dalton travel to Oahu to help rescue a group of government scientists trapped under rubble from an earthquake.
As anyone who’s had a class in earthquake safety can tell you, the aftershocks of a 7.2 quake can sometimes be bigger than the original quake, so Angus is forced to do some quick thinking to help 50 people buried underground. That leaves Dalton free to do his part — which, apparently, is hit on Kono.
Who needs Marvel when you’ve got the CBSverse? Now that these shows are crossing over, that means it’s possible for them to jump over to NCIS and NCIS: LA, which is nice. But what we really want is for MacGyver to meet up with Scorpion. Angus is the undisputed master of low-tech solutions in tight spots, but nobody’s better at hacking high technology than Walter and Team Scorpion. Maybe Chin and company can tag along to form the Avengers of procedural television?
MacGyver airs Fridays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
