‘The Shield’ Actor Michael Jace Sentenced To 40 Years To Life In Wife’s Murder – Update

UPDATE WITH PRISON SENTENCE The Shield actor Michael Jace was sentenced to 40 years to life today in a Los Angeles court for the murder of his wife April Jace two years ago.

PREVIOUS Actor Michael Jace has been found guilty of second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of his wife two years ago. Jace, who played a cop on 89 episodes of FX’s The Shield, will be sentenced on June. 10. He faces up to 40 years in prison.

Jace told arresting detectives that he shot his wife April Jace, who was seeking divorce, during a jealous rage. She was found dead in the couple’s Los Angeles home. A former world-class sprinter, she was shot twice in the legs and once in the back. Their 10-year-old son, who witnessed the shooting, testified that his dad told her, “‘If you like running, then run to heaven,’ ” as he shot her.

Her family called the shooting “a senseless act of domestic violence.”
