Sheryl Sandberg shared a sweet tribute to her late husband Dave Goldberg on Sunday, what would have been his 49th birthday.
"As my children and I do every day, we miss him and mourn that he was taken from us so suddenly and so soon. We miss his smile, his generosity, his wisdom and his love," wrote Sandberg, who is the COO of Facebook.
Goldberg passed away in a treadmill accident in 2015.
In her Facebook post, Sandberg said that Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, was an appropriate time to celebrate her late husband.
"We focus on new beginnings, giving to others, and seeking forgiveness," she wrote. "We recommit to being better and working harder to move the world toward what it should be: more just, more equal, more compassionate, more kind."
Sandberg said this was the "perfect spirit" to honor her husband's memory.
"Dave, the world is a better place for the years you lived - and we will always celebrate the day of your birth," she wrote.
