‘Shades of Blue’ Season 2 First Look: ‘So Much Changes for Harlee’

When Shades of Blue returns for Season 2, big changes are in store for everyone on the NBC cop drama — particularly NYPD detective Harlee Santos (Jennifer Lopez). The first season ended with Harlee killing her ex-boyfriend in self-defense. But what will she do now: cover it up or come clean?

In this exclusive first look at Season 2, Lopez says viewers “can expect a lot of twists and turns,” adding that the show will delve into “human nature and who people are and why we do the things we do.”

Harlee also turned on her mentor and boss, Matt Wozniak (Ray Liotta), and turned him into the FBI. But now, the FBI wants to use the dirty cop to take down someone else, city councilwoman Julia Ayres (Breaking Bads Anna Gunn). “They really are pushing the envelope for network TV,” Liotta notes. “I mean, how many times do you get to play a bisexual lieutenant?”

Shades of Blue premieres Sunday, March 5, at 10 p.m. on NBC.
