Inspired by the New York Times Magazine article “Who Runs the Streets of New Orleans?” and penned by Person of Interest‘s David Slack, the drama project follows a tech billionaire who purchases a troubled police precinct in the wake of a loved one’s murder, asking the question: Can this eccentric and enigmatic figure’s cutting-edge approach fix the broken ways of these blue-blooded veterans?
Per our sister site Deadline, Martinez will play Amelia Murphy, a wry, confident police detective whose penchant for questioning authority has led to her being stuck in the dysfunctional 13th Precinct.
Sleepy Hollow creator Len Wiseman is among the pilot’s executive producers.
