'Scandal' at PaleyFest LA: The 10 Funniest Moments
Scandal fans really, really, really lick… uh, like… the hit ABC drama and its stars.
At Sunday night’s Paleyfest panel, cast members Kerry Washington, Tony Goldwyn, Scott Foley, Darby Stanchfield, Bellamy Young, Jeff Perry, Guillermo Diaz, Katie Lowes, and Joshua Malina took the stage to answer questions from moderator/superfan Jimmy Kimmel and the audience.
And with Kimmel as emcee, things were bound to get hilarious. Here are 10 of the funniest moments from the panel:
1. Malina is a notorious prankster, who even made Stanchfield cry once by continuously pushing her rolling chair just as a scene started. So, how did he feel about reducing his co-star to tears? “That’s when I feel like things really start to take off,” Malina joked.
2. When discussing their favorite, most memorable lines, Stanchfield caused the audience to erupt into laughter with her choice: “Pervy sexting pervy perv.”
3. Some of the cast knew each other before, but maybe not quite to the level of Perry and Goldwyn. The former wrote the latter a fan letter! “Tony directed an amazing indie, A Walk on the Moon, and I wrote him a fan letter. He didn’t write back, but he remembered it.”
4. Kimmel wondered where Baby Teddy (Fitz and Mellie’s son) and Baby Ella (Cyrus’s daughter) are. “We’ve decided that baby Teddy is in baby boarding school,” Goldwyn replied. Perry noted that Ella would be featured in a future episode. Kimmel asked, “Is [upcoming guest star] Lena Dunham playing Baby Ella?”

5. Goldwyn’s dream guest stars include Bill and Hillary Clinton, to which Malina wryly responded, “I’ll email Hillary.”
6. The cast still watches the show together when they can, though that isn’t as often as it used to be. Malina suggested, “We could watch something else. I know it’s crazy, but get together and watch Game of Thrones.” Washington said, “Oh, some of us already do that. Sorry! It was really fun last year.” Poor Malina, left out again!
7. During a discussion about working for Shonda Rhimes, Perry declared, “Do you know how hard it is to get these jobs? I had to sleep with the casting director!” It’s true, since he’s married to Linda Lowy, who casts all of Shondaland’s series.
8. Scandal fans can be a little aggressive in showing their love. One even licked Goldwyn! “As they were taking the selfie, she licked my neck,” he revealed. “And then she took her camera and walked away.” Kimmel joked, “That’s how the measles got going again.”
9. Kimmel asked the actors what item they wanted to take from the set. Foley wondered why Lowes didn’t choose the Twizzlers from the OPA office, and a horrified Lowes gasped, “Those are from the pilot, Scott, don’t eat those!”
10. One fan got Kimmel’s attention with his outfit, which included some kind of sash around his waist. “What is that?” the host asked. “It’s called fashion, Jimmy,” the fan replied. #YouJustGotPoped
