Today’s newsflashes include previews of the Scandal and The Big Bang Theory season finales, airing tonight. Parks and Recreation fans will notice a definite homage to Pawnee’s Perd Hapley, but Jackson, who was a real-life TV reporter for 22 years, has also delivered the news on shows including Scandal, The Catch, Supergirl, Pretty Little Liars, and Revenge, to name just a few.

On the unpredictable Season 5 finale of Scandal (airing at 9 p.m. on ABC), the presidential candidates are ready to announce their running mates and Olivia has to decide whether to try to help Jake get clear of her father.

Laughs will be had on the Season 9 finale of The Big Bang Theory (airing at 8 p.m. on CBS) when Leonard’s recently divorced parents, Alfred (Judd Hirsch) and Beverly (Christine Baranski), and Sheldon’s devoutly religious mother, Mary (Laurie Metcalf), all come to town.
