‘Saturday Night Live’ #TBT: Val the Bartender Meets Hillary Clinton

Saturday Night Live concluded its 41st season last week, and it was a year filled with hilarious political impressions, like Larry David as Bernie Sanders. And it started off in the very first episode of the season, when Hillary Clinton herself made a cameo on the show.

She played Val the bartender, who listens to the woes of “Hillary Clinton” — the always brilliant Kate McKinnon. Hillary is blowing off some steam at the bar after a “hard couple of 22 years.”

Clinton was a very game participant, not afraid to poke fun at herself, like when McKinnon’s Hillary acknowledges she could have supported gay marriage earlier. “Could’ve been sooner,” McKinnon shrugs. Val nods: “Fair point.” The audience goes wild.

The presidential candidate even busted out her own excellent impression of Donald Trump!

The best moment, though, had to be when Darrell Hammond’s Bill Clinton walked into the bar and gasped, “They’re multiplying!”

Saturday Night Live returns with new episodes this fall.
