This Halloween, pay tribute to the queen of chameleons, Sarah Paulson. The actress can play anybody — and over her career, she’s embodied many different characters. Her work on shows made by Ryan Murphy alone is eye-popping. She’s been nominated for an Emmy for the past five years and won a few months ago for her performance as Marcia Clark in The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.

So, Paulson’s characters — or even the actress herself — are a wonderful roulette wheel to spin if you’re looking for an inventive Halloween costume. Here are six different Sarah Paulsons you can be this year:

In death, the ghost junkie looks as she did in real life, so the trashier, the better. Wear an animal-print coat with a stringy blond wig, black choker, and lots of dark eye makeup. Complete the outfit with torn fishnet stockings and heels.

Billie Dean Howard from AHS: Hotel
To dress up as the medium, all you need to do is find a cheap, polyester print dress at the thrift store, add a strand of fake pearls, and get a blond wig. Bonus touch: Glue on fake nails.

The central component of the lawyer’s look is the power suit. Find one with a skirt and shoulder pads, if you can. A short, brown wig completes the outfit. Accessorize with a briefcase filled with legal pads.

Same as above, but with a curly, brown wig.

Shelby Miller from AHS: Roanoke
Don a long, dirty blond wig, and sweep the hair over one shoulder. Throw on a button-up shirt and a pair of jeans and scream a lot.

Time to glam it up! First, shop for an emerald green dress — if it has sequins or glitter, even better. The neckline should be very low, which you may need to cut yourself. Add a sleek, cropped blond wig and chunky earrings. And, of course, tote around a gold statuette as Paulson’s Emmy.
