Watch the Deleted 'Friends' Scene That Was Pulled After 9/11
If you thought a Netflix binge (plus re-runs on Nick at Nite and TBS and …) fulfilled all of your Friends needs, think again! A deleted scene from the hit sitcom has resurfaced.
The clip from season eight was originally scheduled to air in the October 2011 episode "The One Where Rachel Tells Ross," shortly after the tragic events of 9/11 occurred. The problem? It deals with a bomb in an airport.

In the scene, newlyweds Chandler (Matthew Perry) and Monica (Courteney Cox) are in the airport en route to their honeymoon when they get detained by security because Chandler makes an ill-timed joke.
"The sign says, 'no jokes about bombs,' but shouldn't the sign really say 'no bombs'?" Chandler asks. "I mean isn't that the guy we really have to worry about here? The guy with the bombs? Not the guy who jokes about his bombs. Not that I have bombs, but if I did I probably wouldn't joke about them. I'd probably want to keep that rather quiet."
Despite the fact that this deleted scene was originally posted by a YouTube user called bagurka in 2007, it just went viral this week, hitting over 3 million views. The opening slide reads, "As part of the history of the show, we hope that the scenes can now be viewed in the spirit which they were originally intended." Watch the clip below.
Fans may remember that at the end of the season eight premiere, a screen reading "Dedicated to the People of New York City" appeared, as it was the first episode of the series to air after the terrorist attack.
Friends wasn't the only show to make visual edits following 9/11. In the original credits for Sex and The City, for example, the World Trade Towers were shown twice, but after, they were replaced with the Empire State Building. Law and Order: Special Victims Unit also made changes to their opening sequence, permanently removing a picture of the World Trade Center.
Now, we can't help but wonder what other missing Friends scenes might be out there!
