VIDEO: Orlando Bloom Breaks Silence on Miranda Kerr Split

Orlando Bloom has opened up about his split from Miranda Kerr for the first time since the couple announced their separation last week.

"We love each other. We're a family. We're going to be in each other's lives for the rest of our lives," Bloom told Katie Couric on an episode of her self-titled show airing Friday. "There's no question that, you know, for the sake of our son and everything else, we're going to support one another and love each other as parents to Flynn."

Bloom and Kerr have already proven their dedication to raising Flynn, 2, together amicably. They were spotted on a family outing together on Saturday, only days after announcing their split.

"You know, life sometimes doesn't work out exactly as we plan or hope for," Bloom continued. "But fortunately, we're both adults, and we're professionals, and we love and care about each other. And we, most of all, love our son."

The pair has been separated for several months, but only recently formalized the split. They have been married since 2010.
