Katie Couric

is making the move from ABC to Yahoo.

The veteran news anchor and former Today host has joined the web corporation’s Yahoo News as a global anchor, beginning in 2014.

“I’ve always respected Katie for her thoughtful, charismatic approach to journalism,” Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer said in a statement. “From pivotal coverage of natural disasters and historic elections to the royal wedding and the Olympic games, groundbreaking interviews with heads of state and leading tastemakers, her experience is unmatched. Katie is dynamic, savvy and has a way of connecting with viewers that I really admire.”

In addition to her new role, Couric will continue hosting her syndicated talk show Katie.

Andrew J. West (Greek) has boarded the second half of The Walking Dead‘s fourth season, per The Hollywood Reporter, playing a top-secret character named Gareth who did not originate in the source material. That said, West’s alter ego is described as “a remix” of an unidentified character from the comics.

• Melissa & Joey and Baby Daddy return to ABC Family with new episodes on Jan. 15 at 8/7c and 8:30 pm, respectively.

• Investigation Discovery has ordered a third cycle of the Susan Lucci-hosted, true crime series Deadly Affairs.

• Smash alum Jack Davenport will guest-star in an upcoming episode of The Good Wife, EW.com reports, playing an assistant U.S. Attorney.

• El Rey Network has added Wilmer Valderrama (That ’70s Show) to the cast of Robert Rodriguez’s From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series. The supernatural drama, based on the film of the same name, stars Robert Patrick (The X-Files), Eiza González (Lola: Érase Una Vez) and Don Johnson (Nash Bridges). Valderrama will play a crime lord.
