Pilot Scoop: Rob Riggle Circling Fox Comedy The Gabriels (FKA House Rules)

HBO is developing a new comedy that reunites the team behind the big-screen hit The Other Guys.

Starring Daily Show vet Rob Riggle and exec-produced by Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg and Eastbound & Down EPs Adam McKay and Chris Henchy, the untitled project centers on a successful bond trader (Riggle) in 1980s Wall Street who lives a dark and self-centered life, Deadline reports.

Riggle, Ferrell and Wahlberg all co-starred in the aforementioned 2010 flick, which was written by McKay and Henchy.

• M. Emmet Walsh (Blood Simple, Blade Runner) will portray Patty Hewes’ father in the upcoming final season of Damages, TV Guide Magazine reports. The DirecTV drama kicks off its farewell run July 11.

• Following its initial 2012-13 series orders, NBC has picked up a 10-episode pirate drama from Luther creator Neil Cross. The project, titled Crossbones, centers on some of the world’s most notorious pirates as they forge a rogue nation.

• Jimmy Kimmel Live will broadcast from the host’s native Brooklyn from Oct. 29 to Nov. 2.

• SOAPnet will air a Jane By Design marathon Sunday, June 3, leading into the ABC Family dramedy’s summer premiere on Tuesday, June 5.

• ABC has renewed America’s Funniest Home Videos for a 23rd season, to bow this fall. Wife Swap has also received a 13-episode pickup.
