Tori Spelling Reality Show Slapped With $60 Million Lawsuit

Tori Spelling's involvement in the reality series "sTORIbook Weddings" might not have the happily-ever-after ending she was hoping for.

The 40-year-old"Beverly Hills, 90210" star turned reality TV queen finds herself on the defensive side of a $60 million lawsuit filed against the 2011 Oxygen reality series in which she and her husband, Dean McDermott, appeared and produced.

Three men ― Denny O'Neil Jr., Jake P. Hall, and Charles W. Malcolm ― filed court papers against Oxygen Media, Bunim-Murray Productions, World of Wonder Productions, and Spelling and McDermott's production company, Life in a Bowl Productions in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday. The charges, all of which you can read here, include breach of implied in fact contract, breach of fiduciary duty, slander of title, false advertising, unfair business practices, and more in relation to what they claim was the theft of their show idea.

In short, the plaintiffs allege that in 2007 they came up with a show idea called "Wedding Rescue" that would star Spelling and McDermott. Their idea was filed with the Writers Guild, and they pitched it to both the couple and an Oxygen executive. The parties passed on the project only to debut an "uncannily similar" show four years later.

For their trouble, the trio seeks more than $8.5 million for each of the seven of the causes of action, plus additional fees and court costs.

The lawsuit also mentions another show idea called "Tattoo Star" that they pitched to Oxygen and Bunim-Murray, which the companies turned down but ended up being extremely similar to the network's "Best Ink" series.
