Tim Roth Joins Discovery's Gold-Digging Mini
Academy Award nominee and former Lie to Me frontman Tim Roth has joined the cast of Klondike, Discovery Channel’s first-ever scripted miniseries.
Based on Charlotte Gray’s book Gold Diggers: Striking It Rich in the Klondike, the project follows six strangers and their collective fight for survival and wealth in a small, frontier town in the untamed Yukon Territory. A man-versus-nature tale, it places the characters in a land abundant in undiscovered wealth yet ravaged by harsh conditions, unpredictable weather and desperate, dangerous characters — including greedy businessmen, seductive courtesans and territorial native tribes.
Roth will play Charles Eugene Schultz aka “The Count,” a ruthless German not averse to arson or murder.
Production begins in March 2013 on location in Alberta, Canada.
Outside of his Lie to Me run, Roth’s big-screen credits include Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, The Incredible Hulk, Planet of the Apes and Dark Water.
