Charlie Sheen will no doubt be happy about winning this round: Test audiences who viewed his upcoming FX series Anger Management gave it the thumbs up.

The comedy, which premieres this summer, is based on the 2003 movie of the same name and stars Sheen as ex baseball player Charlie (how convenient), who has problems controlling his rage but ends up becoming an anger management therapist himself.

A mixed group of men and women who screened the upcoming half-hour comedy last week rated the drama favorably, according to Entertainment Weekly. Additionally, over 80 percent of the group gave Sheen high marks for his performance and were actually rooting for the Two and a Half Men alum to find some success with his new series.

Sheen's female co-star Brett Butler also tested well among women in the 18 to 34 and 18 to 49 demographic, and so did the show's other female characters, played by Selma Blair and Shawnee Smith.

Anger Management will premiere back-to-back episodes Thursday, June 28 at 9/8c on FX. Will you watch?
