Syfy Cancels Helix and All Its WTF-ery

I have good news and bad news. First, the bad news: You'll have to find new ways to simulate LSD trips, because Helix has been canceled, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Now, the good news: Helix has been canceled, thus putting an end to the suffering the logical parts of your brain endured while watching Helix. Yup, Helix was one of those kind of shows. The kind you watch regularly and then spend more time wondering why you watch it regularly.

Syfy has chosen to end the series after a largely disappointing second season in all respects. Following a strong freshman season that peaked at over 1.8 million viewers, ratings plummeted this year, with the Season 2 finale hitting a series low of 440,000, according to THR. Quality-wise, Season 2 was a disaster and lost much of the first season's creepy charm. I'm still wondering what the hell I watched, and yet I can't help but feel sad. For all of the torture Helix was, there's no denying that watching it was a unique experience and it made for a great Friday night brain vacation. Microwaved rats, reverse abortions, and chase scenes set to disco music... Helix had it all and then some. I'll miss you, Helix.

Are you sad or glad that Helix is gone?
