Will Death actually help Sam Winchester live? We’re not sure, but a fresh promo for Supernatural‘s ninth season (premiering Oct. 8 at 9/8c) reveals that the Grim Reaper is, indeed, back.
Couple that with Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki’s teasers that Dean’s keeping a secret about why Sam survives his season-opening troubles, and we can’t help but wonder whether the elder brother has made a deal with the grimmest of reapers. Or is it perhaps a fallen angel who heals a hospitalized Sam (and maybe even Dean)?
