Sprout Joins Cablevision’s Optimum TV

The preschooler-targeted network Sprout is the latest addition to Cablevision’s Optimum TV, which announced on Wednesday that Glenn Beck’s TheBlaze network would be available by the end of the month. Sprout announced a slate of new programming last month at NBC’s Summer Press Day, as well as the renewal of its hit The Chica Show for a second season. Click over to read today’s release:

BETHPAGE, NY and ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, NJ – May 3, 2013 – Cablevision Systems Corp. (NYSE: CVC) today announced the launch of Sprout® on Optimum TV and Optimum TV to GO, the company’s TV Everywhere offering. Customers who receive the network as part of their Optimum TV service can now enjoy Sprout’s high quality entertainment designed for young children as well as their parents and caregivers. Optimum TV customers can find Sprout on channel 127 or on computers anywhere in the U.S. with Optimum’s TV to GO.

Optimum TV customers can now watch Sprout programming, the first 24-hour preschool TV destination with stimulating and upbeat shows designed to get children moving during the day and soothing shows in the evening as children gently wind down. Sprout is home to innovative Sprout Originals, including “The Chica Show,” “Pajanimals,” “The Sunny Side Up Show” and “The Good Night Show,” as well as favorites like “Caillou®,” “Sesame Street®,” and “Barney & Friends™.” Sprout’s distinctive breakfast to bedtime programming encourages active viewing and invites parents and caregivers to watch and play with their children.

Sprout’s lineup on Optimum TV to GO provides 60 hours of programming each month, including 15 hours of in Spanish as well as trusted, classic shows with fresh and innovative originals. “The Chica Show,” “Sesame Street,” “Bob the Builder™,” “Barney & Friends” and “The Wiggles®” are just a few of Sprout’s programs on Optimum TV to GO.

Sprout is available on Optimum TV to residential customers with Optimum Preferred package and above and Optimum Business customers who subscribe to either Optimum Business or Entertainment packages. Residential customers can access Sprout via Optimum TV to GO.
