On ‘SNL,’ Hillary Clinton Is Ready to Be President: ‘Buckle Up, America!’ (Video)
Hillary Clinton’s cell phone will help her run for president.
Or at least that was the case in the cold open for “Saturday Night Live” this weekend where cast member Kate McKinnon delivered her best impression of the presidential hopeful replete with wild laughter and cell phone jokes.
In the sketch, a handler convinced Clinton that she puts the “hil in hilarious” and that she should announce her plans to run for president via a video selfie recorded on her phone.

When McKinnon’s Clinton came across as frighteningly aggressive in the first take, the handler comforted her and said she could delete it and start again.

“I know a thing or two about that, right?,” the mock Clinton said. Later, she laughed at former Maryland governor Martin O’Malley being her rival.
“He sounds like a ‘Simpsons’ character,” she joked.
Darrell Hammond appeared as former President Bill Clinton in the sketch much to the delight of the studio audience. For added laughs, this Bill said he would make a good “first dude,” promised to be bigger and blacker the second time around and joked about being arrested if there had been video phones in the 1990s.

“Aren’t we such a fun, approachable dynasty?” Clinton wondered out loud before her one-time POTUS husband started playing his sax. “Oh who am I kidding? Buckle up America because the Clintons are back!”
If only the real announcement were so funny.
