Jason Priestley will direct four half-hours of the 12-episode series, which follows The Engel family as they band together to keep their heads above water when their breadwinner father passes away, leaving them with a mountain of debt. They pick up where he left off, running his storefront law firm even though only one member of the clan is qualified to practice law.
Short — next seen in the forthcoming Fox comedy Mulaney — will play the head of Big Pastry, a huge corporation that makes everybody’s favorite baked goods, who’s embroiled in a lawsuit over ownership of the delectable Double Muffin Tops recipe. Levy, meanwhile, guests as the Engels’ family-oriented, lawyer neighbor, who values the forbidden beauty of Ceil Engel.
In addition to Martin, the cast also includes Kacey Rohl (Hannibal), Azura Skye (American Horror Story, Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane), Benjamin Arthur (American Reunion) and Scott Thompson (The Kids in the Hall).
