Sasheer Zamata Debuts On ‘SNL’: Video

New cast addition Sasheer Zamata made her Saturday Night Live debut last night with a brief but cheery “Mazel tov” at the top of the show and popped up a few times more throughout the episode. The host was rapper/Degrassi alum Drake, whose monologue turned into a “flashback” to his own bar mitzvah in the sketch. (Watch it below.) Upright Citizens Brigade-trained Zamata is the show’s first black female cast member in five years. SNL put her to work again playing Rihanna and 2 Chainz’s little sister. No major sketches of her own yet, but not a bad start for the new featured player. Watch the highlights again:
