"MTV Movie Awards incorporates two of my favorite things. Movies and Awards. If somehow group sex could be involved it would be the greatest night of my life," he told MTV News. "This MTV Movie Awards will be more impressive than The Avengers and you won't have to wait an hour for someone to Hulk out."

The show's executive producer, Jesse Ignjatovic, felt that Brand was a natural choice for the job. "He's a movie star. He's probably one of the most brilliant stand-ups that I've seen in his time, and he's a rock star."

"He has amazing comedic chops. He's brilliant. He touches all of the areas that I think are important to us," he continued. "Add to that I think he's one of the most professional people I've worked with in terms of comedians. He's well-studied and very dedicated to his craft. I think we're very fortunate that he said 'yes.' "

MTV's Movie Awards celebrate the year's biggest films based on fan votes. The show will broadcast live from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Calif. on Sunday, June 3, at 9/8c.
